Kenya’s education system has undergone several curriculum reforms since independence, as the government continually emphasizes improving access and quality of education through a relevant curriculum. This study set out to evaluate the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenya. It specifically sought to establish teacher pedagogical practices within the competence-based curriculum in lower primary and middle school education; identify effective practices in CBC implementation in basic education; examine how the implementation
of CBC supports equity and inclusive education for vulnerable learners; and find out the extent to which parents are involved in the implementation of the CBC.
