ABOUT Brown Bully Ndale Onguko

Brown is a specialist in educational technology. He has experience in design, development, and implementation of research and professional development programs through blended learning, teacher professional development, and the use of appropriate technologies in learning, including harnessing solar energy to support digital learning in challenging contexts. He is currently the project manager for the Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education in Africa (EDURAi-Africa) project and the Assessing Student Competencies (ASC) application. This technology innovation enables teachers to analyze learner data and make pedagogical decisions quickly.

He holds a PhD in educational technology from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He also has a Master of Science degree in educational and training systems design, a Master of Education degree in philosophy of education, and a Bachelor’s degree in education. Brown previously worked as a senior education program specialist at the Research Triangle Institute (RTI International) on the Tusome early-grade literacy program.

Brown is driven by a commitment to serve humanity, particularly his passion to make a difference for learners in Africa, especially those in rural settings.
