Brown Bully Ndale Onguko

Associate Research Scientist
Brown is a specialist in educational technology. He has experience in designing, developing, and implementing research and professional development programs through blended learning, teacher professional development, and the use of appropriate technologies in learning, including harnessing solar energy to support digital learning in challenging contexts. He leads the education and technology focus area. He is the project manager for Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education in Africa (EDURAi-Africa) project, and Assessing Student Competencies (ASC) – a technology application for teachers to quickly analyze data on learners and make pedagogical decisions.
He holds a PhD in educational technology from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada (2012). He also holds a Master of Science degree in educational and training systems design, a Master of Education degree in philosophy of education, and a Bachelor’s degree in education.  Brown previously worked as a senior education program specialist at the Research Triangle Institute (RTI International) on the Tusome early-grade literacy program. Brown is driven by a commitment to serve humanity and, in particular, by his passion to make a difference for learners in Africa, especially those in rural settings.
