Webinar Recording: How Gender Expectations Shape Early Adolescence Around the World

October 29, 2018

This webinar recording from November 16, 2017 was a look at findings on how gender expectations shape early adolescence in Kenya, Malawi, and Nigeria.

The webinar was based on a series of articles from the Journal of Adolescent Health that unpack findings of the Global Early Adolescent Study (GEAS) carried out in 15 countries. It Begins at Ten: How Gender Expectations Shape Early Adolescence Around the World is the most comprehensive analysis to date—and the first to draw equally from high-, low- and middle-income countries—of how children on the cusp of adolescence perceive growing up as a boy or girl.
