Working With the County Goverment of Siaya to Promote Family Planning

APHRC, the lead partner in a consortium that is implementing a community-based family planning (FP) initiative in Siaya and Busia Counties, held a forum with the Siaya County Government on the 20th of February aimed at sensitizing the respective county administrators and policy makers on the need for prioritizing family planning on their development agendas.

APHRC is undertaking this project titled ‘Reversing the stall in Fertility decline in Western Kenya’ through its Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health program. The forum, which took place at Namsagali hotel in Siaya County, was presided over by the Siaya County Minister for Health Sarah Ondego and the County Director for Health Dr. Omondi Owino. Also in attendance was APHRC’s Executive Director Dr. Alex Ezeh among other distinguished guests.
