The forum was part of our Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health program initiative to reverse the stall of declining fertility rates in Western Kenya in conjunction with other partners. The forum was aimed at sensitizing the respective county administrators and policy makers on the need for prioritizing family planning on their development agendas. The function was presided over by the Deputy Governor of Busia County Hon. Kizito Wangalwa and other senior county health officials. Also in attendance was the APHRC Executive Director Dr. Alex Ezeh and the CEO of the National Gender and Equality Commission Professor Rose Odhiambo.
