ABOUT Sherine Adhiambo Athero

Sherine is a Research Officer within the Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health Unit. Her main work involves implementing and coordinating research activities related to maternal health, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, family planning, and the intersections between gender and health in Africa.

She holds a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and Technology from Maseno University School. She joined APHRC as a field coordinator in 2010, transitioned to research officer in 2018, and successfully coordinated several national and multi-country surveys in Africa. Before joining APHRC, Sherine served as a Research Assistant at Impact Research and Development Organization between 2008 to 2009.

Sherine is passionate about the health and well-being of adolescents and advancing the rights of women, girls, and other vulnerable populations in society.
