APHRC Participates In the Seventh Joint AU-ECA Conference

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) participated in the Seventh Joint African Union (AU) Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in March, 2014 in Abuja, Nigeria.

The conference, which brought together various African policy makers including cabinet ministers, was themed “Industrialization for Sustainable and Inclusive Development in Africa.” It provided a platform for individuals and institutions to analyze Africa’s industrialization problems and come up with credible policies to achieve sustainable economic growth in Africa.

APHRC participated in the conference by launching the Data For Africa Development (DfAD) Working Group report on issues underlying the collection, analysis and use of data for policy making in Africa. The report outlined how data revolution can help countries make economic and development gains by identifying and addressing data challenges.
