APHRC Participates in an International Debate on Health Innovation in Africa

The Guardian Global Development Professional Network hosted an online debate on the 28th August 2014 from 3pm – 6pm local time. The debate titled ‘how can we drive health innovation in Africa?’ run as a live Q & A between seven health experts and the guardian readers. Among the experts was our very own Dr. Abdhalah Ziraba, an Associate Research Scientist under the Health Challenges and Systems Research Program working on maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS and health systems strengthening. The live event took place in the comments section of the Guardian’s Global Health Innovation Hub web page. You can follow the conversation on Twitter using the hash tag #globaldevlive. Sir Christopher was the first Principal of Imperial College School of Medicine and is a former Chairman of Medical Education England.

Dipika works on PATH’s new strategic initiative to accelerate access to lifesaving technologies by broadening partnerships with local innovators.

Dr. Solomon Nwaka, Executive Director of the African Network for Drugs and Diagnostics Innovation, WHO, Geneva, Switzerland

Solomon has written on drug R&D, public-private partnerships, and innovative ways to stimulate health product R&D in developing countries.
