Project Period

February 2025 - February 2025

The main goal of the project is to improve health care for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD). We will specifically validate screening tools for Parkinson’s disease (PD) and use the validated tools to estimate the population-level prevalence of PD.

We also aim to assess the knowledge and attitudes of influential community advisors in two African countries; assess the healthcare service availability and readiness to manage PD in Kenya estimate patient caseloads in neurology clinics and identify barriers and facilitators to diagnosis and referral of PD in Kenya.

This evidence will be used to engage policymakers, community, and patient representatives to stimulate policy dialogue on key healthcare gaps in Kenya and Senegal.
