ABOUT Sharon Wanjiku Mugo

Sharon is a public health specialist with a background in nursing. She is a research officer in the Health and Systems for Health Unit coordinating the implementation of projects on non-communicable diseases focusing on policies and government actions for regulating a healthier food environment using INFORMAS approaches.

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the National University in Galway (Ireland) (2018) and later on a Master of Public Health from University College of Cork in Ireland (2020). Her experience is in nursing, research, and infectious disease surveillance. Prior to joining APHRC, she did her internship program at the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) in Dublin and worked as a nurse at the Nairobi South Hospital.
