PATRICK AMBOKA
Patrick Amboka is a Research Officer with the Research and Related Capacity Strengthening (RRCS) program at APHRC. He works on the Catalyze Impact via the Africa-led Implementation Research Platforms project, which seeks to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem across the African continent through capacity development, institutional support, and evidence-driven implementation. Patrick also supports the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) program, which aims to improve the Management of Cardiometabolic Diseases (CMDs) in Kenya through Research Evidence Generation and Capacity Strengthening.
He holds a master’s degree in Public Health (Applied Epidemiology) from Amref International University (AMIU) and dual bachelor’s degrees in nutrition and nursing. Before joining APHRC, he worked at Aga Khan Hospital, Coptic Hospital, and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), where he gained extensive clinical and public health experience.
Patrick’s interests lie in research and program implementation across community and public health, disease prevention, and nutrition. His career aspiration is to become a leading researcher and epidemiologist dedicated to advancing health outcomes in Africa. He is driven by a passion for generating actionable evidence that informs policy and contributes to achieving Universal Health Coverage across the continent.
