ABOUT Juliet Ratemo-Okumu

Juliet oversees institutional or corporate communications, including managing the APHRC brand. She is a communications specialist with vast experience in the East and Horn of Africa. Her expertise is in strategic communications, public relations, project management, partnership, policy, and advocacy.

She holds an MBA in Project Management from the African Nazarene University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media from Maseno University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), United Kingdom, and certification in Digital Marketing from Google Digital Garage.

Juliet has previously served as the Regional Director of Communications and Knowledge Management at the Pharo Foundation, Director of Communications at RTI International, Communications Manager at Plan International, Communications Officer at IGAD-ICPAC and the government Office of Public Communications, and Public Relations Officer at AAR Holdings.

Juliet’s mantra is – be present, live in the moment and always leave things better than you found them. She provides career mentorship to young girls to help shape their future choices.
