ABOUT
Jane Valentine Mangwana
Jane is an Advocacy Manager within the Policy Engagement and Communications Program at APHRC. She leads the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Capacity Strengthening project in Liberia and Sierra Leone. The capacity strengthening project aims to equip local CSOs and SRHR champions with skills in advocating for women and girls’ sexual and reproductive health. In addition, Jane leads the advocacy efforts for the Food Environment Policy (FEP) Action project in Kenya, where her role includes overseeing the implementation of the advocacy activities by the partners. The FEP project seeks to generate evidence and mobilize multi-stakeholder efforts to develop a double-duty bundle of four food environment policies. These policies are designed to prevent the consumption of unhealthy diets and reduce the growing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
Jane has a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University. Before joining the Center, Jane worked at the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) as a Communications Coordinator for Africa, where she led communication efforts to publicize CRR’s litigation work on maternal and reproductive health.
