ABOUT Bonface Butichi Ingumba

Bonface is a Data governance officer who assists in managing the availability, usability, integrity and security of the data as enshrined in the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles of scientific data. This includes the entire data value chain from data collection to data sharing while observing the provisions of data protection regulations as well as institutional data policies

Bonface has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Nairobi (UoN) and has been working with African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) since 2012 as a Data Entry/Indexing Clerk, Field interviewer, Field Team Leader, Field Supervisor and Field Coordinator on various research projects across Kenya. He has been involved in implementation of more than 6 projects majorly in the Nairobi Health and Demographic Surveillance System (NUHDSS)

Bonface is driven by his desire to promote availability, usability, integrity and security of the data as enshrined in the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles of scientific data, with the overall goal of maintaining high-quality data that is useful for quality policy decisions and is shared in compliance to relevant data protection regulations and policies.
