The APHRC invites applications for qualitative field interviewers in an upcoming study addressing accountability for equity in informal settlements (ARISE) in Nairobi, Kenya. The aim of the study is to understand the role of accountability for improving equitable health and wellbeing for vulnerable populations living and working in informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Conduct interviews on all recruited study participants 2. Moderate/facilitate qualitative interviews with community members in the study area 3. Take notes and compile comprehensive qualitative interview debriefing and reports/notes 4. Prepare data collection progress report and updates in liaison with the project team 5. Keep updated records of assigned work 6. Assist the research team members in other project-related activities Minimum qualifications required for Qualitative Field Interviewers 1. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or public health 2. Have proven experience and skills in qualitative research work (conducting FGDs, IDIs and/or KIIs) 3. Ability to facilitate interviews and group discussions in Kiswahili, and have strong written and spoken English and Kiswahili languages. 4. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills 5. Have experience in note-taking during qualitative discussions 6. Availability to work full time on the project for the duration of the study 7.
