The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to-policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development. The Center is Africa-based and African-led, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and a West Africa Regional Office (WARO), in Dakar, Senegal. APHRC seeks to drive change by developing strong African research leadership and promoting evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) across sub-Saharan Africa.

APHRC seeks to engage an Intern for an initial period of three months to be attached to the Facilities and Administration Unit.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide general support in procurement activities.
  • Assist in general duties as assigned e.g photocopying, scanning, filing and other routine duties.
  • Provide support in checking and receiving of office items/delivery e.g stationery, water etc.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the building i.e. facility cleanliness and grounds inspections.
  • Assist in Health and Safety compliance.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; Business Management, Procurement & Logistics, Project Management or any other related field.
  • Should have graduated in the last 6 months.
  • Have knowledge of the procurement process.
  • Good customer service skills.
