APHRC researchers were at the PAA meeting that ran between the 1st and the 3rd of May 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States.
One of our highlights at last year’s PAA meeting was the study on the magnitude and incidence of unsafe abortion in Kenya that led the Ministry of Health to revise its training curriculum for health workers on modern methods of post-abortion care. The study also sparked debate on reproductive health in the region.
This year, Dr. Joyce N. Mumah of APHRC made a presentation on “Responses to Unintended Pregnancy among Urban Adolescents in Nairobi: Results from a Formative Study.” The presentation took place on Friday the 2nd of May 2014.
Our researchers have over the years provided evidence to policy makers that has helped shape policy decisions around population and reproductive health. To read more about our work in this area, please visit the Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health Program page on this site.
