ABOUT Felistus Mwalia

Felistus Mwalia is a Communications Officer in APHRC’s Policy Engagement and Communications (PEC) program. She helps researchers translate research evidence into accessible formats for non-expert audiences, collaborates with researchers to communicate their findings effectively, and strategically positions APHRC’s evidence and experts to enhance the Center’s impact.

A passionate advocate for social justice, Felistus excels as a writer and communicator, adept at translating evidence into accessible formats to catalyze positive societal change. She has expertise in the right to food, food systems transformation, agroecology, politics, and international relations. Felistus previously served as Program Officer at the Heinrich Böll Foundation, where she supported the program and communications work of the “Route to Food Initiative,” applying a rights-based approach to address food insecurity and malnutrition and translating constitutional provisions into engaging formats.

Felistus is driven by a relentless desire to contribute to the creation of a democratic and inclusive space where everyone can enjoy their rights, irrespective of their gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, orientation, or class.

She loves reading non-fiction books, particularly those that delve into social criticism or cultural commentary. When she isn’t immersed in work or engrossed in a book, she finds solace in the activities of swimming and photography.
