Dr. Calistus Wilunda is an epidemiologist with a focus on maternal and child nutrition, nutritional epidemiology, and non-communicable disease risk factors. With over 15 years of experience, he has led and contributed to numerous research initiatives aimed at understanding the determinants of health and advancing population well-being. His current work examines hypertension trends and progress in care across Africa, strategies to reduce delays in cancer treatment in Kenya, and the impacts of climate variability on nutrition and mental health among women and children in arid and semi-arid regions.

He holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from Kyoto University, Japan; an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; a Master of Public Health from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand; and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Moi University, Kenya.
