ABOUT Anthony Francis Mveyange

Anthony is the Director of Programs, in charge of Policy Engagement and Communications (PEC), Research and Related Capacity Strengthening (RRCS), and International Programs (IP). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, two Master’s degrees in Economics, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Poverty Analysis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance. Anthony has held various leadership positions, including Director and Technical Advisor at Perigee Consulting, Engagement Lead for Socializing Global Public Investments (GPI) in Africa at the Development Initiatives, and Executive Director at the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR). He has also worked for Trademark Africa and World Bank Research Development Group and has overseen projects in multiple African countries, including advising Kenyan and Tanzanian Governments.

He is a member of various organizations, including the East Africa Social Science Translation Collaborative (EASST), the Economic Society of Tanzania (EST), the American Economic Association (AEA), the INCLUDE Knowledge Platform, the European Economic Association (EEA), Poverty Reduction, Equity, and Growth (PEGNet), and the African Program on Rethinking Development Economics (APORDE). He co-founded the Network for Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA) in Kenya and serves on multiple boards in Africa and beyond.

Anthony is deeply passionate about helping Africa reach its full potential as a continent. He believes in using reliable data-driven evidence to contribute to and shape African policy and decision-making.

Anthony received the CEO Merit Award from Trademark Africa in 2019 for his contributions to knowledge, impact, innovation, and change. In 2020, he was selected as one of 12 global experts by the World Manufacturing Foundation (WMF) and made significant contributions to a White Paper on the future of global value chains.
