QUALITATIVE FIELD INTERVIEWERS IN DAKAR AND SORROUNDING REGIONS

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is an international non-profit non-governmental organization that carries out policy-relevant research on population, health, education and development issues facing sub-Saharan Africa. The APHRC West Africa Regional Office in Dakar invites applications for qualitative field interviewers to participate in an exploratory study in selected regions of Senegal. The study aims to establishing the status of girl’s education and their sexual reproductive health and rights in Senegal.

Minimum qualifications and experience required:

  • Diploma in education, sociology, social sciences or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in qualitative research (conducting FGDs/IDIs/KIIs, coding, analysis).
  • Fluency in French and one local language Wolof/ Pular/Sereer/ Diola.
  • Familiarity with and proficiency in computer applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and facilitation skills.
  • Prepared to work full time on the project for the duration of the data collection activities (one month between February and March, 2020).

Job Description (responsibilities):

  • Conduct interviews on all assigned study participants.
  • Review, cross-check and verify the collected data to ensure completeness prior to reporting.
  • Keep updated records and databases of assigned work.
  • Fill regular progress reports/ timesheets on project activities in liaison with the team leader.
  • Attend project progress meetings.
