Our researchers are contributing to the body of evidence about the critical issues in population health and wellbeing impeding Africa’s development in order to provide strong direction and recommendations to policy- and decision-makers at all levels. Our priority research areas are Human Development, Health and Well-Being, Data Science and Evaluation, and Population Dynamics and Urbanization in Africa. In addition to the research component, APHRC has other programmatic areas in Research and Related Capacity Strengthening, Policy Engagement and Communications and International programs. The APHRC invites applications for Health Facility Field Interviewers in a study that aims to estimate the incidence of abortion, understand the circumstances women seek an abortion, the methods they use, and the complications that result from induced abortion, and measure the capacity of the health system to provide post-abortion care in Kenya. The survey will be done in the following regions: Coast and North Eastern Eastern Nairobi and Central Nyanza and Western Rift Valley Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment/identification of health facility professionals knowledgeable of Post-Abortion Care (PAC) at each selected health facility. Obtain and document informed consent from the study participants prior to involvement in the interviews. Conduct interviews with all recruited health facility professionals who have consented. Review collected data to ensure all questions are completed prior to online submission. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator. Minimum Qualifications At least a Diploma in a health-related field preferably Clinical Medicine, Nursing or Laboratory technology. Ability to conduct quantitative interviews in both Kiswahili and English. Have experience in research practices including data collection using electronic data capture platforms. Have proven experience in quantitative research methods Proven past working experience on quantitative research projects on Sexual and Reproductive Health preferably facility based projects. Be available to work full-time on the project for the duration of the study.
