APHRC conducts policy relevant research on population, health, education, urbanization and related development issues in sub-Saharan Africa. Scope of Consultancy APHRC seeks to engage a consultant to review selected policies (5-8) and draft contracts/agreements to ensure they adequately address safeguarding, protection from sexual exploitation and abuse and if not advice on how they can be improved. Reporting and Deliverables Conduct coordination and consultation meeting(s) including a feedback and review meeting to review drafts and develop relevant recommendations. Provide necessary progress updates. A report on critical policy gaps and corresponding recommendations on how to improve each document shared. Timeframe of the Consultancy The consultant(s) is/are expected to submit a proposal indicating the number of working days needed to complete the assignment. The deadline for interim submission of the draft report will be agreed upon in consultation with the selected applicant and included in the consultancy contract. Minimum Eligibility Qualifications & Experience The consultant(s) must have substantive experience in implementation, formulation and review/analysis of institutional policies in international organizations within the development or humanitarian sector. The consultant(s) must be certified in Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Safeguarding. A technical background in law is desirable.
