Research and Related Capacity Strengthening RESEARCH AND RELATED CAPACITY STRENGTHENING RESEARCH // WHAT WE DO // Research and Related Capacity Strengthening RESEARCH AND RELATED CAPACITY STRENGTHENING The Research and Related Capacity Strengthening program contributes to the realization of the Center’s goals by developing capacities to strengthen the research ecosystem in Africa and contribute to the development and implementation of a blueprint for Africa’s self-sufficiency in Research and development (R&D). The program works falls under three units: Individual Capacity Strengthening Capacity Strengthening for Institutions Research and Development Ecosystem Strengthening Individual Capacity Strengthening The unit seeks to strengthen the technical, intrapersonal, and interpersonal aspects of an individual’s capacity to undertake high-quality research or related functions that contribute to Africa’s self-sufficiency in research and development. Individual Capacity Strengthening Capacity Strengthening for Institutions The unit works to strengthen institutional capacities to collaboratively develop/ enhance systems, structures, and processes that promote research and development in Africa. Capacity Strengthening for Institutions Research and Development Ecosystem Strengthening The unit aims to strengthen support structures, regulatory framework, and linkages for African research institutions and researchers to become critical voices and drivers of the development agenda in Africa.
