Blantyre Prevention Strategy (BPS)

The Blantyre Prevention Strategy (BPS) is a systems approach to the HIV response in Malawi, developed by Georgetown University in collaboration with the Malawi government and other partners to accelerate progress in reducing HIV risk. The strategy focuses on leveraging and strengthening district-level systems to improve the HIV response. It involves detecting and targeting risks, generating demand, delivering HIV prevention products and interventions efficiently, and ensuring the effective and sustained utilization of prevention services. This evaluation study aims to assess the extent to which the BPS program has achieved its desired outcomes (targeting risk, demand, and service coverage), whether it was delivered as intended (fidelity), any unintended consequences on other service delivery, and the promise for sustainability.
