Development of a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the African Union Policy Framework and Plan of Action on Ageing

The overall purpose of this project was to develop a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework that
(i) enables and encourages, individual AU Member State governments to report on their progress in realizing the AU Plan of Action on Ageing and the AU Protocol on the Rights of Older Persons in Africa, and
(ii) provides a platform for cross-country exchange and learning on ageing.
The M&E framework was formally adopted in the first meeting of the AU Specialized Technical Committee on Social Development, Labour and Employment (20-24 April 2015), and is to form a basis for a forthcoming revision and review of the AU Plan.
