What comes next is survivorship: a critical phase that encompasses physical recovery, emotional healing, and the challenge of rebuilding daily life. Yet for many Kenyan survivors, this phase remains shrouded in uncertainty, marked by unmet needs and limited support. In 2024, the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) conducted a comprehensive Breast Cancer Survivorship Study to understand what survivors truly need during this pivotal phase. This document presents our findings: a landscape marked by geographic disparities, significant gaps in psychosocial support, and urgent calls for holistic, survivor-centered care.
