Sylvia Kimingi
Sylvia supports the Knowledge Management and Learning (KML) processes and systems at the Center through the implementation of key knowledge management and learning initiatives to ensure the identification, creation, capture, storage, sharing, and application of technical knowledge to improve the effectiveness of the program portfolio on the Center’s policy and programmatic approaches to enhance evidence development and use.
Sylvia has an experience of over 10 years in implementing knowledge management and learning across government and private sectors. She holds a master’s degree in information and Knowledge Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a bachelor’s degree in library and information science from Kenyatta University. Before joining APHRC, Sylvia worked as a Knowledge Management Officer–Strategy and Programs with the Kenya Revenue Authority. In this role, she led initiatives such as the identification of Subject Matter Experts in the different Tax heads, the Collection and preservation of critical tax-related knowledge products, the Implementation of robust knowledge retention and transfer initiatives, conducting knowledge sharing sessions, and the development and review of the 2nd and 3rd Knowledge Management strategies.
Given her experience in knowledge management and her extensive academic background, she will effectively implement key knowledge management and learning initiatives at the Center.
Sylvia’s drive is to ensure there are no silos in an organization and to foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
