ABOUT Nancy Gathoni Kiarie

Nancy works in the Data Synergy and Evaluation Unit (DSE). She merges her background in Statistics with Monitoring and Evaluation experience in project implementation. She currently supports the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) function for multiple projects at the Center, including the KIX-SEEDS and ANeSA projects.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Statistics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s in Applied Statistics from Moi University. Before joining the Center, she worked with the National Aids and STI Control Program (NASCOP), where, in addition to the technical aspects of MEL and data analysis, she gained valuable experience in project coordination, collaborating with various levels of government and engaging with communities to address their health challenges.

Her research interests are in health systems strengthening and global health. Nancy desires to understand and address the unique challenges that affect healthcare delivery in diverse settings, particularly in underserved communities.

She sees data as numbers and a means to uncover stories, drive policy, and bring about positive change for those who need it most.

When not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her three boys. She also hopes to summit Mt. Kenya one day.
