Miranda Barasa
Miranda is a project manager for the Data Science Without Borders project, which seeks to co-design strategies for using advanced data science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, demonstrating their effectiveness in Kenya, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Senegal. She ensures the project adheres to the workplan and meets its deliverables while managing resources prudently, oversees relationships with investigators and collaborators, coordinates capacity-building activities, and supports project visibility.
She holds an MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion from Brunel University, London, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Kenyatta University. She also has a certificate in Project Management from the University of Washington. Before joining APHRC, she worked as a Program Coordinator, Science, at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Kenya. With over 12 years of experience, Miranda specializes in public health program management, designing and executing program evaluation studies, and research administration and governance.
