ABOUT Justice Nonvignon

Justice Nonvignon holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in public health from the University of Ghana, a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences (Economics major, Geography minor) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is currently a lecturer in health economics at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, Legon, where he teaches and supervises bachelor and masters students and undertakes research in various aspects of health economics. His doctoral research work focused on home management of under five fevers in a rural district in southern Ghana. Prior to joining the University of Ghana in 2009, he worked as health economist and co-investigator of the multidisciplinary home management project at the Dodowa Health Research Centre, Dodowa. Justice’s current research interests include economic evaluation of health care programs, efficiency and productivity of health services, analysis of health care demand, and the role of institutions, governance and leadership in health service delivery. He currently collaborates with local and international partners on various studies, including the economic burden of gastroenteritis in Ghanaian children, and exploring the use of health economics research evidence in health policies in Ghana. Justice has been involved in research funded by World Health Organization – Regional Office for Africa, African Economic Research Consortium, International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications, and GAVI. Justice currently has nine peer-reviewed journal articles and one book chapter to his credit. He also has a number of manuscripts in press and in preparation.
