ABOUT Fatai Adegboye

Fatai Adegboye is the Senior Regional Risk Advisor and Head of Risk Management at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian organization. He oversees risk management for 19 countries in Western and Central Africa. He previously served as Deputy Country Director for primary WFP humanitarian operations and held other roles in different countries, such as Head of Finance and Administration and Head of Audit.

Mr. Adegboye has successfully managed the implementation of global, regional, national, and sectoral humanitarian initiatives in many countries. He served as an Audit Partner at FOC Group, a chartered accountancy firm, and as Head of Money Market Operations at Bacad Finance & Investments based in Nigeria. With over thirty years of experience, Mr. Adegboye is highly proficient in risk management, accounting, finance, and auditing. He has substantial expertise in strategic thinking, policy implementation, and negotiation on sensitive and security matters impacting countries and vulnerable populations.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom, and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, as well as an associate of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in the United States of America. Mr. Adegboye holds a master’s in information sciences from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
