Doris Kwesiga Kambugyiro
Doris focuses on qualitative impact evaluation, including design, conduct, and data analysis, as well as writing evaluation reports and scientific publications. Additionally, she is contributing to developing a curriculum on qualitative impact evaluation at APHRC and promoting the use of innovative approaches, as well as training the center’s researchers in impact evaluation methodology. She is also involved in research on mental health, gender, and policy.
She is a social worker with a PhD in Public Health and Medical Sciences from Makerere University, Uganda and Uppsala University, Sweden. With 15 years of experience in health systems and public health research, Doris has knowledge and skills in qualitative research approaches in rural and urban settings, from proposal development to scoping reviews and impact evaluation. In her previous role as a Research Fellow at Makerere University School of Public Health, Doris mainly worked on maternal newborn health research, leading the qualitative work in a multi-country consortium from Africa and Asia.
Doris is driven by the desire to improve the health of societies in Africa through impactful and relevant research and interventions and to raise the bar for Africans conducting high-quality scientific research.
