ABOUT BENJAMIN MUTIA MUTUKU

Benjamin serves as a program accountant for the DSP and DSE units, supporting the implementation of various projects, including the Data Science Without Borders (DSWB) project (valued at $5M), the Mental Health Data Prize (valued at $800k), and the ENICA project (valued at $1M).

He holds a bachelor of arts degree in Economics and Mathematics and is also a CPA-K and a registered member of ICPAK. Before joining APHRC, he worked as a financial accountant for the Health Education Africa Resource Team (HEART), managing education, health, and community-based organizations (CBOs) projects. At HEART, he led the finance team in implementing internal controls between the organization and partner organizations by doing monthly reconciliations of banks and expenditure reports. He also ensured compliance with the CBOs to tax procedures such as payment of pay as you earn (PAYE) and withholding taxes.

Benjamin desires to work individually and with team members to deliver the required outputs and results. In his free time, he likes to read motivational books, play football, and watch documentaries. He also has an interest in farming.
