ABOUT Anthony Idowu Ajayi

Dr Anthony Ajayi is a Research Scientist at the African Population and Health Research Center. He has over ten years of experience in conducting research on sexual and reproductive health and rights in Africa.

His current work focuses on the lived experiences of pregnant and parenting adolescents, including low-cost and scalable interventions to improve the health, and socioeconomic well-being of girls. He also supports policy engagement, strategic evidence communication, capacity strengthening, and advocacy to improve evidence uptake and policy impacts on adolescent health. Before joining APHRC, he was a lecturer and research fellow at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa.

He is a senior editor at BMC Women’s Health Journal and has published over 90 peer-reviewed articles and 20 online news articles. Anthony is an advocate for the use of evidence in decision making, and a course facilitator on evidence-informed decision-making.
