ABOUT Alvin Joseph Kimani

At APHRC, Alvin supports policy and advocacy activities within the Human Development theme, focusing on implementing the Signature Issues Approach and advancing initiatives like the Inter-country Quality Node on Urban Education to drive impactful change across the continent.

Alvin holds a degree in Political Science and Public Administration, a Master’s in Development Studies, and has qualifications in Public Policy, Resource Mobilization, Finance, and Secretarial Studies. He served as a County Executive Committee Member in Kajiado County, overseeing portfolios related to Trade, Cooperatives, Youth, Gender, and Social Services. Additionally, he worked in the research department of the Parliament of Kenya, providing support to members of parliament, particularly from Kajiado North. He also chaired the Uwezo Fund in Kajiado County and has been a member of the youth fund and CDF constituency boards.

 

His commitment to social change drives his dedication to improving governance and community services, particularly in youth empowerment and gender equity. He believes that effective policy advocacy and resource mobilization are essential to fostering sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life in the community.
