On April 14, 2025, African Population and Health Research Center’s Countdown to 2030 project in collaboration with The Lancet, the Senegal Ministry of Health, and partners will launch the 2025 Countdown Lancet Report, a global report on the situation and trends in women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health worldwide in Dakar, Senegal.
The 2025 Countdown Lancet Report, titled “Tracking Progress in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH&N)” offers a comprehensive analysis of progress in RMNCAH&N during the first half of the sustainable development goal era. The report examines trends in survival, nutritional status, health systems, policies, financing, and inequalities, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries where the majority of maternal, child, and adolescent deaths occur. It also highlights the widening disparities in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in West and Central Africa, where systemic challenges continue to hinder progress.
The launch will be live-streamed. Register to participate here.
