The double burden of malnutrition (DBM), which is the coexistence of both undernutri-tion and overnutrition in the same population across the life course is a global public health problem. Data from the WHO indicate that in 2014, 1.9billion adults aged 18 years and above were overweight, while over 600million were obese globally.
Similarly, in the same year, 462million adults were underweight and 264million women of reproductive age were affected by iron-amenable anaemia.
