ABOUT Simukai Shamu

Simukai Shamu received training in Sociology, Social Anthropology and Public Health. Prior to joining the SOPH as a PhD Candidate and researcher in 2009, he was teaching Health Promotion, Medical Sociology and Health Systems Research in the Department of Community Medicine at the University of Zimbabwe since 2004. Simukai has worked and published in the field of Gender; Gender-Based violence; Sexual and Reproductive Health; and HIV/AIDS. His current research interests include Intimate Partner Violence and the risk of HIV infection during pregnancy; and school health.
