APHRC’s Response to Covid-19

The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11 declared COVID-19, an illness caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome, a global pandemic. Initially reported to the WHO on December 31, 2019, the virus has spread across the world, hitting a high of 76.8 million cases globally, with 2.49 reported in Africa.

The Africa CDC, African Union and WHO are currently spearheading the COVID-19 prevention and response efforts for the continent. APHRC is working closely with their partners, funders and African Ministries of Health to support their initiatives in battling the virus.
