Vollan Ochieng
Vollan is a Research Officer in the Education and Youth Empowerment Unit at APHRC where he supports the senior research team in the development of proposals, budgeting, coordination of fieldwork activities including staff recruitment, training, and supervision, as well as report writing. He is also actively involved in the dissemination of research findings through write-up of policy-briefs, fact-sheets, journals, and presentations in local and international conferences.
Vollan holds a Master of Arts degree in Project Planning and Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Population Studies both from the University of Nairobi. He previously worked as a Project Officer with Dodore (Donate Directly) Kenya in partnership with PharmAccess where he oversaw the enrolment of clients on the Mtiba Health Platform. Vollan also worked with a church-based non-profit –Salvation Army, as a research consultant on education, child trafficking, and smuggling projects. Vollan’s experiences and research interests are in education, environment, population, urbanization, migration, and youth.
