ABOUT Salma Nanjira Musa-Mkanga

Salma is currently a research officer with the Data, Measurement and Evaluation (DME) Unit. She works as the community liaison officer for the Center and also coordinates the Jubilee Education Fund project (JEF) which targets vulnerable children from various informal settlements in Nairobi.

 

She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Development Studies, majoring in Community Development at St. Paul’s University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and a Diploma in Community Development and Social work from Mt Kenya University. Since Joining APHRC in 2001, Salma has worked as a data entry clerk on the Nairobi Urban Health Demographic Surveillance System (NUHDSS) from 2001 to 2007, as a data entry supervisor from 2007 to 2014 and a data quality officer from 2015 to 2018.  Prior to joining APHRC, Salma worked as a research assistant at the National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) and at the Population Council.
