Salma Nanjira Musa-Mkanga
Salma is currently a research officer with the Data, Measurement, and Evaluation (DME) Unit. She also serves as the center’s community liaison officer and coordinates the Jubilee Education Fund project (JEF), which targets vulnerable children from various informal settlements in Nairobi.
She is pursuing a Master’s in Development Studies, majoring in Community Development at St. Paul’s University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and a Diploma in Community Development and Social work from Mt Kenya University. Since Joining APHRC in 2001, Salma has worked as a data entry clerk at the Nairobi Urban Health Demographic Surveillance System (NUHDSS) from 2001 to 2007, as a data entry supervisor from 2007 to 2014, and as a data quality officer from 2015 to 2018. Before joining APHRC, Salma worked as a research assistant at the National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) and the Population Council.
