ABOUT Ruth Muendo

Ruth’s primary research focus is in the field of Early Child Development (ECD). She has worked extensively in the research and implementation of projects in early childhood development with populations in urban informal settlements in Nairobi. Her interest lies in the nexus on the provision of quality early childhood care, the role of women in caregiving and participation in economic activities, the potential for workplace support for families and caregiver wellbeing in the developing world context.

Ruth holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the University of Nairobi. She previously served as a Research Associate at the Aga Khan University, Institute for Human Development, where she successfully led projects on measurement of early caregiving environments, workplace support on childcare and children affected by HIV/AIDs in vulnerable contexts to successful completion.

Ruth is passionate about advocating for policies and environments that foster quality care and development for young children.
