ABOUT Rita Karoki

Rita is a financial and program management professional with over 20 years of experience. She has extensive training and experience in financial management, administration, program management, and monitoring and evaluation. Her role at APHRC involves coordinating activities related to early career researchers in the CARTA program. This includes overseeing the recruitment of doctoral and postdoctoral fellows, tracking their progress to ensure alignment with plans and budgets, and coordinating, executing, and reporting on fellowship support and training activities.

Before APHRC, Rita was a senior accountant at the University of Nairobi, overseeing financial processes such as budgeting, expenditures, and reporting. She has a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting) from Kenyatta University. She is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA (K) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Rita is very passionate about empowering others to reach their full potential and make an impact in life.
