ABOUT Lyagamula Kisia

Lyagamula is a public health researcher and project coordinator with experience working in programs around digital health, maternal, newborn and child health, and health system programs. She currently supports the management and implementation of various projects housed under the Healthy and Systems for Health Unit.

Lyagamula first joined APHRC as an intern after completing her Bachelor of Public Health from Monash University. She has worked in various roles as a field team leader, field supervisor and research assistant. Prior to APHRC, she did her industrial experience at World Vision South Africa, and volunteered at Ulwazi Tutoring Programme (Johannesburg) and Faraja Cancer Support (Nairobi).

Her interests lie in adopting holistic approaches to improve the health and wellbeing of people regardless of their socio-economic status. Thus, she is a strong advocate for equity and justice in the distribution of resources. She strives to make significant contributions to finding simple sustainable solutions to problems that persistently irk our region.

She loves personal time and adrenaline pumping activities…the next adventure, skydiving!
