ABOUT Khalifa Seydi Ababacar Sy Loum

Khalifa joined APHRC as Communications and Advocacy Officer at the West African regional office in Senegal. He is a communications and public relations professional with 9 years of experience working with the UN and other international organizations in Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Togo, Mali, Central African Republic, and Niger. Khalifa has managed and executed multiple communication strategies within the West and Central African region. He is experienced in multi-stakeholder mobilization, collaboration with governments, multilateral actors, local communities, and the private sector. 

His background in Geography gives him a good understanding of issues related to development, basic social services, governance, health, civic education, economic empowerment, and rural development with a gender approach.

Khalifa holds a master’s degree in communication from the Institut Supérieur de Commerce et de Communication de Dakar (ISC Dakar) and a bachelor’s degree in Human Geography from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. He is currently completing a Master of Arts in Media Management at the Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Lille and Université de Lille in France.
