ABOUT Kenneth Odhiambo Okelo

Kenneth Okelo works within the Maternal and Child Wellbeing Unit, and is in charge of the day-to-day running of research activities related to the evaluation of the Parental Empowerment project. The evaluation seeks to establish the impact of an integrated early childhood development program on caregiver and child outcomes, and is implemented by ADS-Nyanza in Kenya, and by ZACOP in Zambia.

He has a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education obtained from Kenyatta University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project management from Jomo Kenyatta University. Prior to joining APHRC, Kenneth worked as the Learning Manager at Kidogo Early Years, where he was in charge of curriculum development and caregivers’ training. He contributed to the development of a play-based ECD curriculum and a teacher training model.

Kenneth is interested in the investigation of caregiver empowerment programs and their impact on children’s developmental outcomes.
