ABOUT Elvis Wambiya

Elvis supports management and implementation of various projects in the Health and Systems for Health (HSH) unit. Current projects are in the area of infectious disease and non-communicable disease epidemiology, prevention, management and health systems strengthening among vulnerable populations.

He holds a BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Karachi (Pakistan) and an MSc in Epidemiology (Implementation Science) from University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). Prior to APHRC, Elvis worked with the school of public health, University of Nairobi as a research assistant.

He is driven by the need to contribute to positive population health outcomes through cutting edge research that informs policy and practice, and is a proponent of the integration of implementation research with conventional research methodology to answer complex public health questions.

Elvis is a 2016/2017 beneficiary of the WHO/TDR postgraduate training fellowship in implementation research.
