ABOUT Reinpeter Ondeyo Momanyi

Reinpeter is a Data Scientist within the Data Science Programs (DSP) Theme. He supports data-related projects that work on the harmonization and standardization of data sets locally and internationally generated from multiple institutional partners. Reinpeter is leveraging novel data science tools to analyze unconventional data, such as grocery purchase records, to predict the health outcomes from the consumption of unhealthy food in Kenya.

 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He previously worked as a Biostatistician at the Africa Mental Health Research and Training Foundation (AMHRTF), where he was involved in conducting statistical analysis of mental health projects related to depression and emotional distress in Type II diabetes patients; suicide thoughts, plans, attempts in high school students; mental disorders and substance use in Somali population.

He is passionate about working with health research data and seeing it transform into generating insights that develop actionable solutions to improve our lives.

Reinpeter is a trained fire marshal, first aider, and QMS ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor.
